Provenientes de San Francisco, E.E.U.U y por supuesto integrantes del U.S.Metal, los Griffin llegaron a lanzar dos albums a principio de los años '80, habiéndo obtenido una moderada repercusión. Sin embargo trabajos como "Flight of the griffin" aún hoy en dia siguen siendo venerados por su extrema metalicidad y contundencia. Lo de ellos era el típico Heavy Metal que se hacía en la N.W.O.B.H.M con algunos toques Thrash.
